Standing Up For Jesus

“In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil men and imposters will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.”
2nd Timothy 3:12-13

The above scripture was given by the Apostle Paul to Timothy to relate the things that would be happening in the last days. How many times have we seen people who are trying to live for Jesus being persecuted by others as to their beliefs and the way they live their lives. It is unfortunate however that many of them do not stand up for their beliefs in today’s world. So many of them are afraid to stand up for Jesus and fight for what is right. A good example of this is that the Christians were afraid and are still afraid to stand up and unite themselves to overturn the abortion laws which were implemented by the vocal minority of the people in our country. If all Christians would take a stand and be willing to elect a government that is based on God’s teachings our babies would not be killed as they are being done each and every day. Jesus warns us in the above scripture that people would be persecuted in the last days for living a godly life and this is becoming a reality. We need to think about all the things we do in our daily lives, and if we are really taking a stand for what is right, even if we are persecuted for it. There are so many things that we allow to happen in our everyday lives which we need to stand up for but do not do so because of what other people will think of us. This is something that we all need to examine about ourselves and determine if God would be proud of us.
