My Daily Devotional

Are You Ready

“For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God”
1st Peter 4:17

This morning the news was filled with the tragic news that an airplane has crashed, and as many as two hundred people may have been killed. This kind of news indicates just how fragile life can be. Our life can be over before we expect it to be, and news such as this gives us the true reality that none of us are promised tomorrow. Each day we live is truly a gift from God. The people aboard this ill fated plane had no other thought, other than that in a few hours they would be at their destination. Each day people wake up, get in their cars and start to work, but also never make it as they are killed in auto accidents. Many people wake up never thinking about the heart attack, they will have in the next few hours. I would like each of you to think about, what if this was you, that was aboard this airplane, or in your auto going to work, or the one that had the heart attack. Would you be ready if there was no tomorrow? For all the people that have no tomorrows, the only thing that will matter is whether they have accepted Christ into their hearts, and asked Him to be their Savior. God’s desire is that none be lost, that all come to repentance. As you read these words today, I want to ask you if you have the assurance, that if you died today, would you be saved? If you don’t have this assurance, and if you aren’t 100% sure, you can settle this issue right now. You can ask Jesus to come into your heart, while you still have time. It is not too late, and it is so simple to be assured of a home in Heaven. I encourage any of you that are not completely sure, to ask Jesus to come into your hearts right now, and assure yourself of an eternal life.
