My Daily Devotional

Let God’s Word Guide You

“When you walk; they will guide you; when you sleep, they will watch over you; when you awake, they speak to you.”
Proverbs 6:22

This scripture in proverbs is a very practical one, that I would encourage you to apply to your daily life. In previous devotionals I have told you to get up each morning and read your Bible, and find a scripture that you can apply to the rest of your day. I like to use the book of Proverbs, as the wisdom of King Solomon, seems to always have something good that I can put to good use in my daily life. Starting out your day with God’s word will provide you with the wisdom to make the right choices in all your decisions, and will keep you from giving in to all the temptations that Satan will put in front of you. You will find that these words of God will become a constant reminder as to what is right and wrong, and when you are tempted to do something wrong, will convict you and keep you from traveling down the wrong path. God’s word is more than just inspiration, but it is also wisdom that will help you get through the trials and struggles that you face each day. When you read God’s word each day and apply it to your daily life, you will find a peace and comfort in all that you do as, “Then you will understand what is right and just–and fair–every good path.” Proverbs 2:9 With all the busyness in life, and all the hustle and bustle that our society produces, it is important to keep a perspective of what is important and not important. This daily word from God will keep you from getting caught up in the things that are meaningless, and help you keep your eyes on the things that will matter most to you and to God.
