My Daily Devotional

The Majesty Of God

“He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for man to cultivate—bringing forth food from the earth.”
Psalm 104:14

Having grown up on a farm in Kentucky I have always had a dream of owning a farm and making my living growing things like my family did? This never became a reality in my life as I went in a completely different direction in my career. It is only during these last 20 years that I have had the time and the acreage to have a garden and to do a small bit of what I enjoy doing. I love working in the yard, cutting the grass and planting flowers and growing fruit trees and vegetables. I feel God all around me when I am outside and see the majesty of what he has created. The birds, the bees, the flowers, the trees, the grass and even all the insects are all God’s creations. They all have a purpose and a reason why they were created. Each one of God’s creations is different and to think about why they were created and how they fit into God’s great universe is beyond imagination. How he gives us the vegetables, the fruits and the food we raise which begins from small seeds which we plant and then watch them grow to provide the food that keeps us alive is amazing to me. How can anyone question God’s greatness when we take the time to look around us and see the beauty in our world and the way that all of the things he created compliment each other? When I am outside in his world I can really feel his presence, and it makes me want to bow down before him and thank him for what he has provided for me. It is at this time that I realize that God is in control of everything and I want to worship him in everything I do. I would encourage each of you reading this today to take just a moment to look around you and see and feel the presence of God. He is all around you, in all the creations and the world He has created for you. See and feel the majesty of our God in your world today, and let our God come into your heart and give you the greatest gift, an eternal home in Heaven.
